Album

The Ultimate Copland Album is actually a pretty good introductory sampler, featuring some of the composer's best-known pieces. "Fanfare for the Common Man" leads off, of course, and major portions of "Rodeo," "Billy the Kid," and "Appalachian Spring" make up the meat of the disc. While it's far from a definitive overview of Copland's music, it's a great place for neophytes to start.
