Murad Adigezalzade

Murad Adigezalzade was born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1973, and began his serious music studies at the Baku State Academy of Music "Uzeir Gadjibekov", where he studied piano with Professors R.Atakishiyev and F.Badalbeyli. Upon graduating in 1996, Murad entered the Moscow State Conservatory, where he completed post-graduate work with Professors Elisso Virsaladze - who is likewise featured here at the Classical Archives. As early as 1984, his talents were recognized, when he was named among the Top 10 pianists at the Concertino-Prague Radio Competition. Among other awards earned by Murad thus far include 1st Prize in the Azerbaijan Republic Piano Competition (1996) - whereby he was named Azerbaijan's "Pianist of the Year"; and 2nd Prize (tied) in the 2nd International Piano Competition of Tbilisi (Georgia, 2001). He has performed in recital and at music festivals in Russia, Georgia, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Murad has also performed as a soloist with orchestras in Azerbaijan, Turkey, and elsewhere, under the direction of such notable conductors as N.Rzayev, R.Abdullayev, Y.Adigezalov, V.Sirenko, and V.Jordaniya. His repertoire includes works by the outstanding composers of the Baroque, Classic, and Romantic eras, as well as music by contemporary Azeri composers. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Piano at the Baku State Music Academy. We are pleased to feature this promising young pianist here at the Classical Archives.
