Born in Pisa in 1975, Maurizio Baglini began studying piano with Giampiero Semeraro at La Spezia Conservatory. He continued his studies at the Incontri col Maestro Piano Academy in Imola (Italy) with Piero Rattalino and Lazar Berman where, in 1999, he was awarded the Master's Diploma.

Baglini is a prizewinner at several international piano competitions, including the Busoni (Bolzano, Italy), Chopin (Warsaw), William Kapell (Maryland, USA). He was First Prizewinner at the World Music Piano Masters in Monte-Carlo by unanimous vote of the jury in 1999. He has performed as recitalist and soloist in the some of the most important concert halls around the world, including the Salle Gaveau in Paris, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, Steinway Hall in New York, Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Bellini Theatre in Catania, Manoel Theatre in Malta, and Amici della Musica di Palermo, collaborating with conductors Armin Jordan, Emmanuel Krivine, Donato Renzetti, and others. On September 4, 1998 at the "Festival delle città" in Portogruaro (Italy), Baglini, along with Fabio Bidini, performed the world premiere of the Suite for Two Pianos "Un petit train de plaisir" by Azio Corghi.

He has also participated in prestigious international festivals, including the Benedetti Michelangeli in Brescia and Bergamo (Italy), Roque d'Anthéron in Lockenhaus (at the invitation of Gidon Kremer), Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Settembre Musica in Turin, and Pianos aux Pyrénées in Barèges, Festival du Vigan.

Baglini's upcoming engagements include solo recitals at the Salle Gaveau and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, and the Yokohama Festival in Japan, concertos with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Fresno Philarmonic Orchestra (Califomia), and others.

Maurizio Baglini's discography includes CDs for Phoenix Classics of the 27 Chopin Etudes recorded on Steinway Piano, the Chausson Concerto for violin and piano, with Pavel Berman, and the world's first recording of the 27 Chopin Etudes performed on original instruments (a Lange of 1835 and a Pleyel of 1849).
