Margarita Mamsirova

Margarita Mamsirova was born in Saratov, Russia and graduated from the Saratov Conservatory, where she studied voice under Professor Alexander Bystrov. Since 2000, she has been a leading soloist with the Moscow Musical Theater Group "Stanislavsky & Nemivrovich-Danchenko", and has been a guest soloist with the Bolshoi Theater since 2002. Ms. Mamsirova has been a laureate at numerous competitions thus far, including at the 2nd International Rimsky-Korsakov Opera Competition (St. Petersburg, 1996); the National Theatrical Competition "A Gold Mask" (Moscow, 1996) - for her role as Cenerentola in Rossini's opera of the same name; the 41st International Toulouse Vocal Competition (Toulouse, France, 1996); and the Grand Prize of Moscow (an opera competition broadcast on TV, 1997).

Among the principal roles performed by Ms. Mamsirova include Dalila in Saint-Saëns' Samson et Dalila; Charlotte in Massenet's Werther; Carmen in Bizet's Carmen; Rosina in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia; Arsace in Rossini's Semiramide; Cenerentola in Rossini's Cenerentola; Dorabella in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte; La Principessa d'Eboli in Verdi's Don Carlo; Preziosilla in Verdi's La forza del destino; Suzuki in Puccini's Madama Butterfly; Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin; Polina in Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame; Laura in Dargomyzhsky's The Stone Guest; Clara in Prokofiev's Duenia; Sonia in Prokofiev's War and Peace; Marina and Shinkarka in Mussorgsky's Boris Gudunov; and Klytamnestra in Strauss' Elektra.

Beyond her performances in Russia, Ms. Mamsirova has appeared in productions in Austria, Italy, France, and Poland. She has performed with such esteemed orchestras as the Russian National Orchestra, the Russian Philharmonic, Opera National de Paris, and the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra, and under such conductors as Gustav Kuhn, Sergey Kondrashov, and Gari Bertini.
