Golub is particularly fond of twentieth century music and has given the Russian premieres of compositions by Ives, Messiaen, Jolivet, Ligeti, Kagel, and others. A highly regarded premiere this season was her performance of French music for piano and organ (with Nikolai Petrov).

Her repertoire also includes compositions for instruments accompanied by organ, including violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, oboe, and other instruments, and she collaborates with the renowned Russian pianist, Tigran Alikhanov, in programs of classical and contemporary works for piano duo.

She has performed the organ part in many concerts given by the Moscow Philharmonic, several of which included world premieres of symphonies by Gubaidulina and others, as well as Schnittke's Requiem. As soloist and orchestral musician, she has made tours to France, Germany, Great Britain, The Czech Republic, Finland, and other countries.

Reviews

"Ludmila Golub is a wonderful interpreter of modern music. Like many other composers, I am so grateful to her for her brilliant performances of the organ and harpsichord parts in some of my compositions (The Faust Cantata, The Third Symphony, The Sound and Its Echo, and others). Ludmila Golub is a talented performer who plays with equal virtuosity the piano, the organ, and the harpsichord."

Alfred Schnittke, Composer

"I've known Ludmila Golub for quite a long time as a brilliant organ and harpsichord soloist, and an equally fine chamber musician. She has played many of my pieces (The Ode, The Dead Leaves, Silhouettes, Sonata for Violin and Organ, The Blue Notebook, etc.). I value highly her perfect professionalism, her wonderful musicality, and total reliability. When Ludmila Golub performs a piece of mine, I am always sure that the performance will be of the highest quality."

Edisson Denissov, Composer

"Ludmila Golub is an outstanding organist who knows all the secrets concealed in the instrument. I recall with pleasure our creative collaborations, particularly her wonderful performance in our recording of Mahler's greatest masterpiece – his Eighth Symphony."
