Narek Hakhnazaryan Cello   

Narek Hakhnazaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1988, into a family of musicians. He began his music studies at the Sayat Nova Music School under cellist Zareh Sarkisyan. In 2000 he moved to Moscow, where he entered the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, studying under Alexei Seleznyov; he is currently a student at the Academic Music College of the Moscow State Conservatory. Narek has already earned prizes at several competitions, including at the 1st Republic Competition of Young Performers (Armenia, 1998), and the 4th and 5th International Tchaikovsky Competitions of Young Musicians (China, 2002; Japan, 2004). He is a member of the "New Names" Benevolent program in both Armenia and Russia, and holds scholarships from the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Aram Khachaturyan Fund and Konstantin Orbelyan Fund. Narek has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in concerts in Russia, France, Germany, Austria, Greece, England, Canada, and the US.
