Alexander Suslin (double-bass) was born into a family of musicians in Moscow, 1971. His mother Julia is a pianist, a musicologist and a teacher, his father Viktor Suslin is a composer. Alexander learned to play different instruments and started the class of double-bass with Leonid Fradkin, Hamburg Conservatory in 1991. He performed as a soloist and played in ensembles at various festivals in Russia, Britain, Japan, Poland, France, Austria, Sweden and other countries. In 2010 he was awarded the prize for his contribution to culture (Pinneberg, Germany). Alexander Suslin is the first performer of a number of compositions by Sofia Gubaidulina, Victor Suslin, Vladimir Uspensky, Woycik Widlak, etc.
