Vladimir Rasskazov is a violinist and conductor active in Moscow. In 1989, Rasskazov founded the Moscow Chamber Orchestra Renaissance, which is dedicated to the "rebirth" of Baroque masterworks as well as to the propagation of modern and jazz-inflected works. Here, Rasskazov teams with pianist Youri Grigorov to present another program that falls somewhere between the two realms of classical and popular music. This is a collection Rasskazov entitles "Russian Salon," featuring a mix of serenades, tangos, waltzes, and gypsy-tinged melodies.
