Catherine Nick, a native of France, has studied singing in various German cities: in Mannheim with Eva-Maria Molnar, in Stuttgart with Konrad Richter, in Saarbrücken with Renate Stoll, and in Weimar with Eugen Rabine. She received her soloist diploma in Saarbrücken in 1996, and has since taken master classes with Syliva Geszty, Philippe Huttenlocher, and Barbara Schlick.
In 1996, Ms. Nick won multiple awards at the Concours International d'Oratorio et de Lied in Clermont-Ferrand, France - including the "Mozart Prize." Her repertory spans from songs and lieder to opera. In the recordings featured here at the Classical Archives, Ms. Nick is joined by pianist Ekaterina Derzhavina, whose own solo work is likewise found at the Classical Archives.
