Martin Yavrian is a talented young violinist from Yerevan, Armenia. Born in 1983, his early training included study at the Tchaikovsky School of Music in Yerevan, where he worked under P.Haikasian. Presently, Mr. Yavrian is a student at the Yerevan Conservatory, studying with violin professor Artashes Mkrtchyan.
Already, Mr. Yavrian has appeared as a soloist with the Yerevan Symphony Orchestra, the Armenian Philharmonic, the "Serenade" Chamber Orchestra (likewise featured here at the Classical Archives), and the Chamber Orchestra of the Yerevan Opera Theater, among others. He has performed not only in Armenia and countries of the former Soviet Union, but likewise in Cyprus, Egypt, Germany, and Switzerland. Among the awards won by Mr. Yavrian include 1st Prize at the Stephan Elmas National Competition (Yerevan, 1999) and Levon Chilingaryan Competition (Yerevan, 2000), and 3rd Prize in the Ifrah Nieman International Competition (Mainz, Germany, 1999). We expect future success from this talented young man.
