Anton Dressler
|
Anton Dressler was born in Moscow in 1974 and completed his music studies at the Moscow Conservatory, under Professor L.Mikhailov and V.Sokolov. Post-graduate study in clarinet performance took place at the Bologna Conservatory under Italo Cappicchioni, as well as through Master Classes with A.Pay, S.W.Meyer, E.Daniels, F.Meloni, and V.Mariozzi. He has already won numerous competitions, including First Prize at the Young Talents of the Soviet Union Competition, the Stresa International Competition (Italy), the "Ponchielli" Competition (Cremona, Italy), and the "Rovero d'Oro" Competition (Italy). In addition, he won Second Prize at the International Music Tournament (T.I.M.) and Third Prize at the "Valentino Bucchi" International Competition in Rome.
Anton has appeared as a soloist throughout Europe, as well as in Israel and Turkey. He has performed with such esteemed artists as Mischa Maisky, Julian Rachlin, Boris Petrushansky, Itamar Golan, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Daniel Müller-Schott, Ingrid Fliter, Vladimir Spivakov, Pavel Vernikov, Alexander Gindin, Olga Kern, the St. Petersburg Quartet, the Aviv Quartet, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra (under K.Orbelian), the Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra (under V.Bulakhov), Piccola Sinfonica di Milano (under S.Lucarelli), and many others.
He has participated in various music festivals, including the Festival dei due mondi (Spoleto, Italy), the Portogruaro Festival, Da Bach a Bartok, Emilia-Romagna Festival, Colmar Festival, Four Seasons in St. Petersburg, Russian Winter (Moscow), and others. In addition, he has performed as first clarinet with several orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the Moscow Conservatory Virtuosi (under J.Bashmet), the Padova e Veneto Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Savona, as well as various ensembles at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
Anton possesses a wide repertory, from the 19th century to the present, including several works written expressly for him, by such composers as U.Brener, E.Podgaits, M.Bronner, A.Rosenblatt, E.Galperin, and A.Chaikovsky. He is himself a composer as well, as seen here in his Efx 3. We are pleased to feature this talented young clarinetist.
