Liliya Erokhina
|
Liliya Erokhina was born in Moscow and studied voice at the Gnessin Music Academy in 1996. The following year she became a laureate at the International Vocal Competition in Honor of Queen Sonia of Norway. Among other awards won by Ms. Erokhina include 1st Prize at the All-Russian Vocal Competition "Bella Voce" (Moscow, 2000). Her performance career began in earnest in 1998, when she joined the Moscow Theatre of Modern Opera, under the direction of composer Aleksey Ribnikov. In 2000, she began performing as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Defense Ministry, the results of which can be heard here at the Classical Archives. Beyond her work with this orchestra, Ms. Erokhina has been touring regularly as a soloist with several outstanding Russian orchestras since 2002, and has worked with such outstanding conductors as M. Gorenshtein, S. Skripka, Vladimir Ziva, V. Lutsenko, V. Halilov, and S. Gosachinsky. Her performances have taken place in such prestigious venues as the Great Hall and Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and the Moscow International House of Music. Outside of Russia, Ms. Erokhina has performed in Norway (2002) and China (2004-05, with the Moscow Symphony under Vladimir Ziva). Beyond her work within the standard opera repertory, she likewise performs chamber and sacred vocal works by Russian and European composers. We are pleased to feature this talented vocalist here at the Classical Archives.
