If you have collected as many MIDI files as I have,
disorganization of file names will have become a problem for you.
Because there is no standard, I am attempting to fill a void with
the introduction of this document. The first letters of a classical
MIDI file should begin with the name of the composer. Because of the
eight letter file name limit, we must make any organization as tidy
as possible.
By grabbing a few old Schwann catalogs, I began work
on the following scheme. Feel free to update correct names, dates,
add new names, etc.
I would appreciate any updates through e-mail
(my old catalogs couldn't tell me when Bernstein died).
