David Dunn studied with David Ernst, Norman Lowrey, Pauline Oliveros, and Kenneth Gaburo. From 1970 - 1974, he was assistant to Harry Partch and performed in the Harry Partch Ensemble for more than a decade. He co-founded the Independent Media Labs in Santa Fe, NM, and has gone on international tours and presentations. He was a featured artist at the international sound festival SoundCulture in Tokyo, Japan, and the author of Music, Language, and Environment and Skydrift, a large environmental sound project. Many theoretical writings include Harry Partch: An Anthology of Critical Perspectives.
