Alcock was the organist at Salisbury Cathedral for 30 years. He was known for his refined technique and choice of repertoire, and was a sought after for his recitals. He taught at the Royal College of Music and played for the coronations of three kings. He was knighted in 1933. © Lynn Vought, All Music Guide
