Paolo Marzocchi is a graduate of the Conservatorio Rossini in Pisaro, where he studied composition under Mauro Ferrante and piano under Giovanni Valentini. Following graduation he studied composition privately with Salvatore Sciarrino and Sir Richard Tchube, and piano with Leslie Howard. Among his composition awards are First Prize at the 1996 Rossini Composition Competition and Special Mention in the 2000 J.A.Flores International Composition in Paraguay (for his orchestral work Finis Terrae, featured here at the Classical Archives). Mr. Marzocchi is also an active pianist, and a member of both the British Liszt Society and the Istituto Liszt in Bologna. He regularly gives concerts throughout Italy, Germany, and England. He is currently a teacher of sound design at Macerata University and the Academy of Arts in Urbino.
