Grigory Voronov was born in Moscow in 1948, and graduated from the Moscow Institute of Radio-electronics in 1973—where he worked until 1982. His musical training began somewhat late, first in the piano department of Gnessin's College, where he graduated in 1975; and then from the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied composition with T.Khreenikov and Edison Denisov. In 1982, Mr. Voronov began working as an editor at publishing house Soviet Composer—now called Kompozitor Publishing House, where he is currently editor-in-chief. His compositions are performed frequently at various contemporary music festivals in Russia, such as Moscow Autumn, Panorama of Music of Russia, and Music of Friends; his works have also been performed in Spain, France, Italy, Austria and Korea.
