Derek (David) Bourgeois (1941-)

Bourgeois studied at Magdalene College, Cambridge and at the RCM. He gained recognition with the performance of his =Symphonic Variations= (1966). He took a position as lecturer in music at Bristol University in 1971. Influenced by Walton and Britten, Bourgeois' best known works are those for schools and amateur groups.
