Yerevan Chamber Choir Chorus/Choir
Loading, please wait...The Yerevan Chamber Choir, under the direction of conductor Harutiune Topikyan, is a 26-member choir dedicated to the restoration of Orthodox Christian traditions in Armenia, and enjoys the blessing of His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians. The choir has thus far recorded 9 CDs, including masterworks of classical and contemporary Armenian music. They have participated in numerous international music festivals throughout Armenia, as well as in Russia, Italy, Norway, and Germany. In 2000, the group received the award of "Best Traditional Album" for their recordings of the music of Komitas at the 3rd Annual Armenian Music Awards (Glendale, California).

Harutiune Topikyan
Harutiune Topikyan was born in 1951 in Yerevan, Armenia, and graduated in choral conducting studies from the Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory in 1973. Since then, he has led several choirs, including the Chamber Choir of the Armenian State Radio and TV, the Komitas Choir of Yerevan State University, and the Armenian community choirs in Beirut and Los Angeles, before founding the Yerevan Chamber Choir. In 1982, he earned the "Lenin YCO of Armenia" award. Mr. Topikyan was also one of the organizers of the East-West United Song Festival "Bridges of Song Tallinn-91" (Estonia, 1991), where he conducted some 20,000 singers.
