Anton Quartet Chamber Ensemble
The Anton String Quartet has been in existence, in its present form, since July, 1988. It has worked in Moscow with Valentin Berlinsky, founding member of the Borodin Quartet.
In 1988, the Anton Quartet won Second Prize and Special Prize, for the best interpretation of contemporary music, in the Prague Spring Competition. In 1989, they won the Grand Prix, the International Press Jury's Prize, and the SACEM Prize at the Evian Competition. In 1993, they were awarded the First Prize and the Special Prize for the best interpretation of Russian music, in the third Shostakovitch International Competition in St. Petersburg.
The quartet has made numerous tours throughout Europe, Japan, Morocco and Mexico. They have performed in such prestigious European halls and festivals such as Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre de la Ville and Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Herkulesaal in Munich, Academia Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Barbican Center in London, and the Sala Verdi in Milan, to name a few.Anton Quartet
