Thanks so much for this presentation. Mme Grimaud is one pianist that I find myself gravitating towards again and again. Her interpretations are wonderful. I only wish that she would record more - would absolutely love to here her play Schubert, more Beethoven, and Brahms' 2nd piano concerto! I will look forward to this recording and those to come and wish her all the best in her life and pursuits!

Hélène Grimaud is a truly outstanding pianist and musician, a genuine stylist. At times her pianism reminds me of Glenn Gould, because they both have a way of taking charge of the music and making it their own. Her approach to Bartok is very different from that of the composer, who performed it without nuance, in a style no doubt influenced by the folk musicians he so much admired. Her playing is full of nuances and even some quirks, but, although I greatly admire Bartok's performances, I like hers even better, because they have so much verve and personality. I'm wondering, by the way, if she could be related to the pianist Yvette Grimaud.
