Its original name was called allint.mid, and the file contained the following text which is the only information I have to go on: "Allint.sng is another recording of a RAVEL performance into KCS then from KCS to Seq+. Though this sequence is an edited take, the greater amount of time and energy went into the actual composition of the program itself. Lately I've learned to handle some of RAVEL's more important features, particularly arrays and vectors (C pointers). I have annotated the original RAVEL.ma file, but will here say that the piece is generated via manipulations of an all-interval 12 tone row as described by Ernst Krenek in his "Studies in Counterpoint", with rhythm elements drawn from two fragments from Reginald Smith-Brindle's "Serial Composition". Registral displacement is employed, as are a couple of different means for returning pseudo-random velocity values. I must stress that very little has been done to the piece once it was recorded into Seq+. Stray notes have been deleted (I don't know whether they originate with RAVEL or get added by KCS), and velocities have been adjusted for the marimba. And of course I've written a tempo track: RAVEL is rather funny about its timing accura and the BPM counter usually intimates the value series of the tempo fluctuion." I wish the person who did this had gone through the trouble of putting their name on it! Since the velocities were all too low, I added around 100 percent to all values. I like the way this piece sounds with Harp and pizzacato strings, so I changed to that, too. Finally, I changed the name to 12tone1.mid, so it's easy to find on the hard drive. The row should be obvious to most listeners, and I find the piece more interesting with each listening.
