This was written in 1896 for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. It was also played at a concert during the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley, north London. Elgar was one of the most important British composers of the 20th century. He wrote two symphonies, several marches including the four Pomp and Circumstance marches, the Cockaigne Overture (describing the City of London), cello concerto, violin concerto, Enigma Variations, songs and chamber music. He became the Master of the King's Music. His music was played at many royal events such as weddings, and coronations. The 4th Pomp and Circumstance march was played at the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana in 1982. This sequence is for church organ. I have added the reverb controller at the beginning of the sequence. It consist of two tracks/channels. The second channel is the bass notes that would be played by the foot pedals. I used a Yamaha Clavinova and a Roland JV1080 to produce this sequence. I will be sequencing quite a lot more Elgar, Walton and Parry since I am of British origin and am very fond of this kind of music. Robert Finley. Nov 9th 1995. ROBERTFINLEY@delphi.com
