This fantasia is the third of the six fantasias in Froberger's Libro secondo of 1649. This fantasia is in three sections. The first is the longest and is the most straightforward of the three sections. The theme is used as the subject for imitative counterpoint in the stil antico. The second section is in a triple meter and the theme appears repetitively in stretto. The third section is the most interesting from a contrapuntal perspective. The theme appears simultaneously in quarter-note and whole-note values, often in stretto.
