Musicology:
After composing several symphonies in Rome, Mozart took about a year off from composing symphonies, but resumed his output in Salzburg in summer of 1771. K 75 in F was once misleadingly called "No 42, " and no authenticated manuscript exists, although there is little doubt is is by Mozart. There is an increase in elegance and more syncopation in this work, in which Mozart takes the unusual step of placing the minuet movement second rather than third. It is, overall, a jolly work. -
