Lindaraja, for 2 pianos, L.97Year: 1901
Genre: Other Keyboard
Pr. Instrument: Piano Duo
Lindaraja (1901), never published in Debussy's lifetime, was the composer's first work written expressly for two pianos. The title is derived from the name of one of the garden rooms of the Alhambra, and in this regard the work may be considered something of a forerunner to La Puerta del Vino from the second book of Préludes (1910 - 13). Lindaraja is based on a habanera rhythm and demonstrates a particular subtlelty of mood and form.
