This work is a saucy little tune set to the words of an anonymous poet. It is the outspoken song of a woman who has broken free of an unrequited love, and who is proclaiming that she is as far out of love with the man she once cared for as he is out of love with her. The words are set in short, impudent phrases over a staccato-paced accompaniment.
