This single-movement keyboard sonata (marked Allegro, alla breve for tempo) proceeds in a happy mood with a toccata-like feel and a whimsical melody that features lots of intra-line repetition. Sometimes its melody advances as a single-line, sometimes it moves forward over a single-line counterpoint, and sometimes it makes its way over chords.
