Musicology:
A 1978 five-minute setting of the "Credo" for four solo voices - soprano, counter-tenor, tenor and baritone, "Summa" is probably one of the most characteristic works of Arvo Pärt, who years later made an instrumental version of it. The music sounds distinctly medieval in its obstinate diatonicism. It has a hypnotic rhythm and the melody is based on a motive easy to remember. -
