  • Wie schmeckt es so lieblich, for SAB voices, 2 violins, violone and continuo, BuxWV108
    Genre: Other Choral
    Pr. Instrument: Chorus/Choir

This cantata is scored for soprano, alto, bass, two violins, violone, and continuo. The text is by Heinrich Müller from the Geistliche Seelen-Musik 1659. This cantata is organized exactly like Was frag ich nach der Welt, BuxWV 104. Buxtehude sets seven stanzas of lyric poetry. The odd-numbered stanzas are scored for the full ensemble while the even-numbered verses are scored for a soloist and continuo. The soprano, alto, and bass each sing one verse solo. The work concludes with a beautiful imitative polyphonic alleluia.
