This Latin cantata was sung at communion. The work is scored for soprano, two violins, and continuo. The work is a typical seventeenth-century sacred concerto. Much like the Geistliche Konzerte of Heinrich Schütz this work consists of several short contrasting sections, each new segment of text set with completely different music. Buxtehude also makes frequent use of echo effect in the work.
