This brief piece is an arrangement for solo piano of the first of his Two Songs, Op. 3 called Cancion al arbol del olvido (Song to the Tree of Forgetting). This wandering, melancholic piece is brimming with a quiet yet passionate lyricism. A steady, hypnotic tango-evoking beat is carried by the left hand throughout. Definitely for those who enjoy the Chopin Nocturnes.
