Musicology:
Tribue domine/Te deprecor/Gloria patri is a six-voice tripartite motet by the renaissance English composer William Byrd (1543-1623). It is by far the longest work of his early career, as well as the most varied, utilising two- to six-part polyphonic, homophonic and antiphonic writing. Written in his early career, this work seems to be an exercise in setting the longest possible text.

Tribue Domine (a6)Year: 1575
Genre: Motet
Pr. Instrument: Chorus/Choir
- Tribue, Domine
- Te deprecor
- Gloria Patri
The tripartite name of this work does not indicate polytextuality, an earlier medieval technique, but that the work is in three sections. These sections are printed consecutively in the 1575 Cantiones with no indication that they form one larger work, but so many internal musical and textual references occur that they are considered a single work.
