Musicology:
These three brilliant and very short (the whole suite is only two-and-a-half minutes long) piano duet pieces are clearly inspired by Bela Bartok's short settings of folk music for piano. The opening and concluding pieces are quick and forceful dances, while the middle dance is in the mood of a lover song, written in one of the unusual modal scales found in Hungarian folk music. -
