These three miniatures for piano, dedicated to two of the composer's children, are based on traditional nursery tunes from around the world and sung in Argentina. The melodies are presented in a simple and direct manner and the composer ignores the complex rhythmic interplay that characterizes so many of his more probing works. The last tune, "Jo no soy marinero" is the most chromatically enhanced, with a wide variety of colorful harmonies reminiscent of certain works of Milhaud.
