This is one of the most charming string pieces written in the 20th-
Romance for String Orchestra in Eb, Op.11Key: Eb

century. Its full blown romantic lyricism makes it a likely favourite
of emotional listeners. It is based on two themes. After a haunting
introduction, the first theme blossoms into a passionate cantilena.
A solo violin introduces the second theme. An intense climax
precedes a restatement of the second theme followed by the first
while the music subsides into a melancholic reiteration of the
introduction.
