This minister suite takes the form of four short etudes, each satirizing the style of a contemporary composer (Schoenberg, Stravinsky, Bartók and Hindemith). Regrettably, the extent of the satire was too great for the publisher (who also happened to publish Hindemith) and the work received only limited exposure in a 1931 specialized musical journal. Even more astounding, the suite did not receive its première till 1978, over fifty years after composition!
